The 2009 Sonata is Hyundai's mid-sized sedan. The Sonata now gains extra length, height and width. A choice of two engines is available on this model's three trims (GLS, SE and LIMITED): A V6, DOHC 24-valve engine, 249 hp/229 lb-ft torque with Continuously Variable Valve Timing, VIS and 19 mpg city/29 mpg highway or a 2.4L DOHC 16-valve engine with Dual Continuously Variable Valve Timing, 168 hp/163 lb-ft torque and 22 mpg/32 mpg highway.
