Hyundai Sonata Recognized Appears on "Greener Choices" List for the Seventh Year in a Row

Every year, the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy (ACEEE) compiles their "Greener Choices" list. The list aims to give drivers who may be working on a budget or just plain hesitant to adopt a hybrid or electric vehicle with fuel efficient options to consider in the hunt for their next ride. How do they do this? By only considering gasoline-powered vehicles that are widely available and carry automatic transmissions... That's how.

And after all those other vehicles have been cut from the list, which one stood out the most? That would be the 2012 Hyundai Sonata. It won the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy over with its 28 mpg combined fuel economy rating, it's Hyundai Blue Link telematics system, and its 'fluidic sculpture' design.

"Sonata's acknowledgment as a leader in fuel efficiency for the seventh year in a row only strengthens our commitment to delivering sustainable solutions for consumers," said John Shon, Sonata Product Manager, Hyundai Motor America. "The Sonata offers class-above interior volume compared to its key competitors and provides the best fuel economy in the EPA Large Car segment with an exceptional 28 mpg combined fuel economy rating."1
