We’ll go over the Accord’s maintenance schedule to give you an idea of what to expect during each service visit.
7,500 Miles or Six Months
Your first Elantra’s scheduled maintenance visit starts at 7,500 miles or after you’ve owned the car for six months, whichever comes first. During this visit, our certified service technicians will change the engine oil and oil filter. This removes dirt, dust and debris from the engine and prevents it from wearing out prematurely. The service technicians will also rotate the tires to keep them from wearing unevenly.
During this visit, the service technicians also perform a few inspections, including the car battery, the air cleaner filter and the vacuum hose.
15,000 Miles or 12 Months
Your second maintenance visit occurs at 15,000 miles or after you’ve owned your Elantra for a year. During this visit, the service technicians will perform the same services as the previous visit, and they’ll replace the climate control filter.
There are some more inspections at this point, including the air conditioning refrigerant, the suspension mounting bolts, the brake hoses and lines, the steering system, the driveshaft and boots, the front and rear brake pads and discs, the front brake calipers, the rear brake drums and linings, and the exhaust pipe.
22,500 Miles or 18 Months
The 22,500-mile maintenance visit includes the same services as the 7,500-mile visit. These services will be performed every 7,500 miles.
30,000 Miles or 24 Months
At this juncture, in addition to the standard services of the 7,500-mile service, the service technicians will replace the climate control filter and the air cleaner filter. Additionally, they’ll inspect the air cleaner filter, the filler cap and vapor hose, the air conditioning refrigerant, the parking brake, the fuel filter, the fuel tank air filter, the fuel hoses, the brake lines and hoses, the brake fluid, the muffler and exhaust, the suspension mounting bolts, the brake parts and the steering system.
