The 2020 Hyundai Sonata is available in four trim levels, listed as SE, SEL, SEL Plus and Limited. Powering the Sonata SE and SEL models is a standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 191 hp and 181 lb-ft of torque. The SEL Plus and Limited are equipped with a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that puts out 180 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque. Both powerplants are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Fuel economy is excellent. The base four-cylinder engine gets an EPA-estimated 28/38 mpg in the SE trim and 27/37 mpg in the SEL trim.* The upgraded unit returns 27/36 mpg.
Standard features on the 2020 Sonata include LED headlights and taillights, a six-way manual-adjust driver’s seat, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
